lyrics

I just don't know where to begin
Seems I've been fighting and riding this road for too long
Just give me a chance
It will not be in vain
I've learned through my faults
And I've learned through my pain
Bled so much and sunk so low
I’ve chalked my hands and chased that score
I lay my head on concrete floors
I’ve walked through fire
Been through the ring
I’ve stained my eyes with vagrant wings
I’ve tried so hard to keep it clean
I’ve left my love everything
I give you my soul and give heartache
You fed me your lies
And I took the bait
I just don’t know where to begin
Seems I've been fighting and riding this road for too long

I’ve been cut
I’ve been hurt
I’ve been spit out and chewed
I’ve been lost
I’ve been found
I’ve been wronged and abused
I have lied
I have cheated
I've done some things wrong
I confess all my sins and I'm singing this song
Now all that I've done is all true and right
But I get on my knees and I pray to the light
I stayed true to myself and the people I've hurt
And I never did ever go back on my word
I stayed true to myself
I stayed true to this world
But people don't care they just wanna be heard
And nobody cares about telling the truth
They want what they want
Oh, what can I do?

How can I be happy when I’m not myself?
It all will mean nothing, your plastic and wealth
When you can't look your friends in the eyes
Ashamed of the truth beneath all your lies
Relations are vapid, cliché and stale
Your sole will be crooked
Your heart will be frail
Truth Gets No Reward
Not in whiskey or dimes
But life is not worth living behind glass eyes

Man is often disillusioned from his aspirations to authenticity and righteousness
But I assure you my brothers and sisters
All deeds have their consequence
We are all siblings of the same creed
And in this creed
We are wrought by the sinful and malicious
Plagued by the deceit imposed upon us by our fellow man
How can I call you my brother?
My own flesh and blood
If you cannot be truthful?

We must purge the apathy towards virtue
And right the wrongs behind us
Marching forward with love in our eyes
Only then can we achieve the harmony we desire
Only then will we be liberated from our sins

At the crossroads of our ascension
We must choose to be driven by empathy for each other
Because at the end of time
Realize we are the brotherhood
We must stand together and consolidate in fairness
Bonded by love
Love for ourselves but more importantly love for mankind
We are individuals striving for a better tomorrow
And in an age plagued by misguided ideas and deceit
I remind you one last time
Truth IS rewarded
Be authentic
Pursue honesty
Be the righteous man you want to see staring back at you
Practice love and understanding for your brothers of mankind

For if you are to slip and be consumed by darkness
You have not only failed yourself
You have failed your creed
So, the next time you are tempted by the grips of malice
I leave you with two words….
BE RIGHTEOUS!

I just don't know where to begin
Seems I've been fighting and riding this road
For too long
I just don't know where to begin
I've come so far
Done so much wrong
